Our first coffee from Nicaragua, we’re thrilled to share this honey-process lot from Nicolas Flores and Angela Gadea at El Porvenir. Juicy, peachy, and with a sweet, pastry-like aroma throughout, this Red Catuai lot is a beautiful expression of one of our favorite processing styles.
Sourced from our friends at Gold Mountain Coffee Growers, their mission is to help farmers fight poverty through producing high-cupping coffees. Nicolas and Angela run their farm to support their children’s education, and are working to transfer ownership to one of their daughters in a multi-year transition to retirement.
We find that this coffee does well with a conical dripper and recommend a 1:16 ratio.
